On pack description
North Atlantic cold-water prawns (Pandalus borealis), cooked, peeled, single frozen and glazed.
The North Atlantic cold-water prawn lives the majority of its life on several hundred meters of depth, but is caugth at depths between 150 and 400 meter. As opposed to other prawn species, the North Atlantic cold-water prawn is pink both before and after being boiled. Due to its habitat in the icy waters the prawn grows slowly, which is the basis for its exceptionally juicy and intense flavours. The prawns grow here for five to six years before they are caught. To secure optimal preservation of the delicate taste, texture and freshness, the prawns are processed immediatly after catch. Cold-water prawns have a high content of protein and a naturally low fat percentage.
