Nutaaq® cod and GOURMET Sliced cod win prices
Royal Greenland's products took home 2 Seafood Star Awards at a large industry meet up - the Fischwirtelschafts-Gipfel - held in Hamburg, Germany.
Fischwirtelschafts-Gipfel is held biannually and gathers people from the fishing industry in Germany to discuss current challenges with experts from other industries such as research, sales, the food industry and more. At the trade fair this year, Royal Greenland's cod won two awards; best frozen product and best smoked product.
Our specially developed Nutaaq® Cod from Maniitsoq that travels just 2 hours from water to freezer won the award for best frozen product because of its outstanding quality and moist, fresh taste when cooked.
The new product GOURMET Sliced cod was launched alongside a smoked salmon in late 2016 and won in the category for best smoked product.
"We are very proud of these awards and we are especially proud of the award for Nutaaq® cod. We are finally being acknowledged for this exquisite and unique product" says René Stahlhofen, Head of Sales in Royal Greenland, Bremen.
The Seafood Star Awards are awarded within 6 different categories and are selected by the participants at the Fischwirtelschafts-Gipfel who are able to sample each product during the exhibition. For the German market, the awards hold great importance:
"Since it is participants from the trade fair that select the best products, Royal Greenland is bound to be noticed by the German wholesalers and retailers" says Malik Hegelund Olsen, Head of Sales from Royal Greenland, Nuuk.
Both Nutaaq® cod and GOURMET Sliced cod can label the Seafood Star Award on their packaging for the next 2 years in Germany.
