Improved results for Nutaaq Cod® production
Fine-tuned methods has proven great results for this year's season of Nutaaq Cod. In spite of a late start to the season, the factory in Maniitsoq has been able to produce both faster and better with further upping the quality in general for this year's Nutaaq®.
In spite of beginning the production a month later than usual, this season looks promising for Nutaaq Cod®. During the first two months of production, the factory received more than 4600 tonnes of live fish from local fishermen, which corresponds to the same amount for a period of 5 month in the previous season.
August offered a low peak for the amount of landed live cod at the factory, and although indications showed more cod was coming, it has not improved massively during September and October.
'In spite of this low peak in the amount of cod, we still expect to finish the season with a result equal to or slightly better than the 2016 season' says Niels Wann, category manager.
New equipment and more experience
Recent upgrades in the equipment for production, such as a new gyro freezer that has increased the amount of frozen cod per day by 400%, enabling the factory to produce faster and freeze faster.
Moreover our colleagues have gained significant experience from previous seasons, enabling a faster and smoother process.
"In combination with the upgrades to the factory equipment and the well boat, we have managed to further improve one of our quality products", says Susanne Marie Knudsen.
