Newfoundland operations looking for 100 new colleagues
Royal Greenland is committed to continued growth and investment in Newfoundland, where the company invested in Quin-Sea Fisheries five years ago. Over these past five years, we have invested over $20 million in the province, aimed towards growth and innovation in our plants. In 2021 another $6 million in investments is planned; more colleagues are needed!
In total the company is looking for up to 100 new colleagues for the season across a number of locations in Newfoundland. Seasonal workers, supervisors, production managers as well as work term students are needed. This is the highest number ever and Simon Jarding, Managing Director for Quin-Sea Fisheries, is very positive in his outlook for the season: ‘Since Royal Greenland engaged in Newfoundland five years ago, we have invested more than $20 million in the province and I believe that we are today an attractive workplace. The preparations for this upcoming season has been tough while in covid lockdown, but with local subcontractors and our dedicated staff we have made it possible to have great expectations for the coming season.”
Royal Greenlands investments for the 2021 season has focused on more value adding upgrades and more processing as close to where the resource is landed to obtain a higher quality product. “Newfoundland has the right ingredients to succeed – great raw material and great people”.
